2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Reveal: Interior & Exterior Features

    Bold, Compact Exterior

VW overhauled the front bumper of the latest Tiguan for a sharp appearance. The front bumper and grille include LED headlights, daytime running lights, and an option to illuminate the VW logo. Next, there are four main trims. Each has 4Motion all-wheel drive. Further, all models have a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine. Consequently, drivers will get 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque in all trims.

Next, VW updated the rear with style elements borrowed from the Arteon and Taos models. They’re using the same powerful LED taillights as previous models.

Now, for the fun part, the Tiguan SUV comes in eight colors. The lineup includes the latest options, Oryx White and Kings Red Metallic.

    Stylish Interior Updates

Inside the Tiguan SUV comes standard with heated seats, and there’s an upgrade option that includes a heated steering wheel and front-seat ventilation. Next, certain trims come with a touch interface for climate control and power tailgate operation.

The upgraded trims contain simple but fancy features, like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-operated islands and sliders, enhanced audio, and ambient lighting.

    Wireless App-Connect and charging

    2022 Tiguan Tech

Tiguan features some nifty tech updates. All models except the base option come with IQ.DRIVE. VW is including this driver assistance suite in many of its new vehicles. IQ.DRIVE allows for front assist, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and emergency assist. Additionally, IQ.DRIVE has some optional features. These include headlight assist, parking assist, and road sign recognition.

Further, IQ.DRIVE comes with some partially autonomous features. In travel assist mode, the SUV practically drives itself up to 95 MPH. However, the driver’s hands are on the wheel. If the driver gets distracted, travel assist sends out warnings to catch their attention.

Emergency assist is another autonomous feature. If a driver fails to respond to the signals for catching their attention, the Tiguan SUV enters an emergency mode. Consequently, the hazard lights will turn on and the brakes will engage to safely stop the vehicle.

    Infotainment Upgrades

The infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Next, there’s a WiFi hotspot that comes standard in all trims. Music fans can spring for the higher-end trim models that include a nine-speaker Fender audio system.

Finally, the infotainment comes in two sizes depending on the trim: 8.0 or 10.3 inches. Additionally, the screen is highly customizable. You can display the information that you want to see.

It makes sense that the Tiguan is an American favorite. With three rows of seating, it’s spacious yet compact, so there’s plenty of space for individual drivers and families. Further, tech-savvy drivers will like the futuristic upgrades in the latest release. Safety-wise, it’s strong and sturdy and should handle well on rural and city roads.
